Prerequisites

All Prospective participants in an instructor Course must:
 
  • Have current Provider status in the discipline they wish to teach
  • Have completed an Instructor Candidate Application (Provided During Registration)
  • Have the most recent edition of the AHA Provider Manual for the discipline they wish to teach 
  • Complete the discipline specific Instructor Essentials Online Course
    From (www.Onlineaha.org)  NOT INCLUDED

 

STUDENTS MUST OBTAIN MATERIALS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE COURSE.

STUDENT CAN PICK UP MATERIALS AT THE COURSE LOCATION .

 

The following are the steps to become an Amercian Heart Association Instructor:

 

  • Complete the classroom discipline specific Instructor Course (Given On The Date Above)
  • Be successfully monitored teaching a course by Training Center Faculty / Regional Faculty

Course Cost $430.

The instructor manual is not included with  course.
ACLS Original Course

The ACLS Provider Course  has been updated to reflect new science and training recommendations in the 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. The AHA has developed new ACLS Provider Course materials that will aid in providing quality and consistency in all ACLS Courses.

ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communications, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented:

  • Key changes in advanced cardiovascular life support, reflecting the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED)
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and earlymanagement of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
  • Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics
  • ACLS Provider Course included a mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment (PSA) that all providers must complete before their class.

FREE Infant CPR Course for Expecting Parents

We are now offering FREE Infant CPR Classes for expecting parents! As exciting as it is to bring a child into the world, we understand the fears that all parents experience. We are offering this course in order to put all those fears aside! We want you to be prepared in case of an emergency. This course will consist of: learning how to relieve a choking infant, and how to perform infant CPR. This course is approximately 1 hour long.
